"Natural Selection has chosen the human race to advance science and technology to such a degree that we are beginning to control not only our own destiny but that of the entire planet. Natural Selection will also define our success or failure. "











Darwin's studio to the lower left of the picture is rising up towards Hawking's studio. It is stepped upward to indicate development in evolution with a 'link' joining the two prisms indicating how natural selection has allowed the progression upward.













From Hawking's studio the vista stretches all around. The distant undisturbed horizon reflective of the future development of evolution which has no bounds. The studio hangs in suspension as if caught in an airwave of technology yet at one point touches the uplifted cliff face indicating it's connection to the earth. The studio is elevated to gain the best connection tothe technological highways which are invisible to the eye.














The studios are connected by a long thin platform. The length indicates evolution progressed steadily for a long time . The sudden uprise at the end of the platform reflects the small length of time man has been on the planet and the developments he has made, particularly in the last 100 years. The structure then develops outward, less connected to the earth. The uncertainty of the rise and fall of the structure reflects the future success and/or failure of man's endeavour to control science.


THE RAMPS:











Darwin's lower studio ramp to the meeting place is short and steep, lined by rocks as an indication of the foundations of science and evolution.













The ramp from Hawkins studio takes a longer journey down to the meeting place indicating through distance the enormous development technology has taken. The meeting place falls around the long platform joining to the two studios. The platform passes through the meeting place at it's datum as it is a fundamental to the journey of evolution. The meeting area itself is somewhat protected from the elements by the rising landforms around it, this is to protect the clients and their discussions/thoughts/revelations in evolution so that they may flourish and develop.

MATERIALS USED:

DARK: Indicates the complexity of technology and how it interconnects and weaves. It's organised yet irregular waves reflective of how technology behaves.





























MEDIUM: The star shows the beginning of a new form, lines reflect the relationship and connection between developing forms. It's repeatition indicative of the natural selection process.
































LIGHT: The simplicity of this texture reveals the beginning, almost like that of a single cell at the start of life. Used to connect development areas between the studios.
